UC Ringmaster

This is the two-time World Champion Morgan Stallion, UC Ringmaster. I have the honor of immortalizing him with my paintbrush.

He is pictured above, posing for my camera. He's 27 years old, and he is still a fiery, energetic guy. He is still used for breeding and his get are Champions, too.

UC Ringmaster is a superstar!

And, be still my heart...Look at how handsome he is! A dream portrait subject!

Watch this space for updates on his portrait--- I will begin it after my busy Holiday season.

Thanks to all of my customers for your support. You make this artist very happy; my best wishes to all of you for a very happy Holiday season.

More about Studio friends...while we're on the subject...

These are some of the people and organizations that have supported, encouraged and mentored me. I asked these friends if I could link them here, and here they are, and they are all fantastic. Let me introduce some of them to you: (and check out their websites in the links to the right...)

Brandy Kitten Gale: A talented plein air landscape artist/designer/photographer based in Canada. Brandy is also an expressionist painter who specializes in feline portraits. Her work is masterful and vibrant; I am very lucky to have her as a mentor, her encouragement, friendship and advice has been invaluable.

Lara Bunn: An artist who specializes in the feline form and expression, Lara paints colorful, dreamy cat portraits that delight her customers time and time again. Check out her website and see why I just love her work.

Barbara Livingston: An award-winning photographer who specializes in thoroughbred racing, Barbara Livingston's images are well-known in the racing world. She has written several books on the world of racing, and she is a delightful, inspiring person. One of my favorite equine books of all time is her incredible book called "Old Friends," featuring the retired, the wise, and the late and great thoroughbred legends such as Seattle Slew, Spectacular Bid, Halo, Kris S., and Affirmed. Her photos are breathtaking, and her website offers an incredible visual treat--it has thousands of her images for you to browse! Go there now, and prepare to be awestruck.

UConn School of Fine Arts: My alma mater. I studied studio art, art history and sociology and earned my Bachelor of Arts from UConn in 1994. Their fine arts department has a talented, award-wininng faculty and many exciting programs and majors---including the unique Puppetry program!

UConn Polo Sketches

Enjoyed watching the National Champion UConn Women's polo team play against Yale today. These are some sketches I did of the action. ( I always carry a sketchbook so I can draw when the mood strikes!)

The UConn polo teams are incredible. They are fierce competitors, talented players and fantastic riders. If you haven't seen them in action--you must go to a FREE game. The home games are usually Fridays at 7pm, and Sundays at 3pm. All games are held in the Horsebarn Arena at the University of Connecticut, Storrs campus. Call 860.486.2034 to confirm that a game is being held. Then, pack some snacks, bring a cushion or a blanket to sit on, dress warmly and go watch an exciting polo match. There's nothing like it!

Go Huskies!
