Hello Friends of Sound the Bugle Studio!

My goodness, it’s been so long since I have written all of you. I hope you had a great summer! Fall is on its way—I can smell the pumpkins and apples in the air already. 

I have LOTS of great news to share with you. SO much has been happening here in my little studio in Hampton, Connecticut—I’ve been busy, busy, busy! Just the way I like it.

First, as some of you may already know, I have collaborated with Cape Cod-based jewelry designer, Sara Morrison, to create some one-of-a-kind equestrian pendants. Our jewelry line is the Sound the Bugle Studio Equestrian Collection by sarawaxwing.

We created a special edition pendant featuring my painting, My Horse, My Heart, to benefit the Pace for a Purpose event at the beautiful Tyrone Farm in Pomfret, Connecticut on Oct. 7.

Pace for a Purpose is an equestrian benefit for the Day Kimball Healthcare Deary Memorial Cancer Fund. Donations from the event and 10% from each pendant sale will help cancer patients in need who do not have the resources to obtain treatment and care.

Once we start heading into October, my portrait list fills up and I can’t guarantee completion before the Holidays sneak up on us. Whew! See, I told you I had a lot of news!

Last but certainly not least, the final draft of my book is DONE and all I need to do now is make the FINAL corrections and hand the manuscript off to my designer. My Horse, My Heart: The Morgan Horses of the University of Connecticut is nearly ready for the publisher—and I couldn’t be more excited.
