Congrats to Sal Scalora, the new host of channel 14's "Artists and Authors."
Last year, I was interviewed on the local Northeast Connecticut arts program, the Charter cable channel 14 TV show Artists and Authors. The longtime host of the show, Erica Pagliuco, resigned recently--so the show's producers put out a call for a new host.
So, I was asked by the producer of Artists and Authors to return to their studios and be an interviewee for some potential hosts they were auditioning.
I was happy to help, as the show is fantastic and it needs to continue!
I am thrilled to report that the wonderful and knowledgeable Salvatore "Sal" Scalora was chosen as the new host of Artists and Authors.
Sal was most recently the Director of the Benton Museum at the University of Connecticut.
Sal Scalora received the President’s Award for Promoting Multiculturalism and Affirmative Action at UConn last year. He was a Resident Visiting Artist and Wampler Professor of Art at James Madison University in 1995. He graduated from UConn with a fine arts degree before earning his master’s degree at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 1976.
Sal and his vast knowledge and experience will be as asset to the show. Congrats, Sal!
And best of luck to former host, Erica Pagliuco-- you left some big shoes to fill! Erica was a great interviewer and I had so much fun appearing with her on the December 2007 Artists and Authors show.
Artists and Authors starts filming new episodes with Sal next month. If you live in Northeast Connecticut and you get channel 14, tune in and check it out. This show is a Northeast Connecticut gem.
Thank you for promoting the arts, Artists and Authors. I wish you continued success!
