Red on Red

Red on Red, 2010. 24" x 19" acrylic on gallery wrap canvas.

This new painting was inspired by my horse friend, Pikasso CA. Pikasso is an Arabian/Warmblood bred by Crossen Arabians of Coventry, CT. He is a beautiful dressage athlete (with the ribbons and awards to prove it!). He has a gorgeous, glowing, golden red chestnut coat and a dramatic white blaze--just a vision! (he has 4 white socks, too! Lotsa chrome and flash, and the talent to go with it).

The painting was inspired by a live-study sketch I did of him last year.
